The Miami Dolphins are going the wrong way. Three straight losses heading into New England have turned this pivotal matchup into, potentially, the tipping point of the season. In spite of the recent results, I view this team as a playoff, division and first-round bye contender.

Consider this, back-to-back wins against New England and Cincinnati would give these Dolphins a head-to-head advantage over the top 3 contenders for the second seed in the East at the midway point of the season. Unfortunately, a win at New England has not come since 2008.
Those Dolphins were 0-2 and coming off of a 1 win season. New England had won 21 straight regular season games and that win jump started the team into 11 victories and an AFC East title. This game in New England has a very similar feel to it.
Those Patriots were vulnerable because Tom Brady was out for the season, while these Patriots are dealing with season ending injuries to star defenders Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo and the departures of four of Brady’s favorite weapons.
Long gone are Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd and Danny Woodhead. Rob Gronkowski, will be making his first home start of the season, while his new number one receiver, Danny Amendola, had two catches for zero yards in his only home appearance this season.
The New England Patriots are coming off of a tough overtime loss at the New York Jets and are probably a little bit lucky not to have 3 losses themselves having narrowly escaped defeat against the Buffalo Bills and at home against the New Orleans Saints. (continued on page 2, CLICK HERE)
